I work in mixed media. Two of the pieces are painted on canvas with collage elements. These pieces are part of my "Zachor" series. Zachor means "memory" in Hebrew. I use family photos that were given to my father in law who died 50+ years ago. His friends gave him photos before he left Poland to go to Palestine in the 30's. Most of these photos are not identified. With this project, I am honoring the memory of lost people in lost places in a lost period of time. Two other pieces are small metal collages housed in wooden "Sanctuaries", which is the name of that series. This series also uses photos from the above archive; expressing my feelings and thoughts that meditating on the photos evokes. The other two pieces are painted assemblages of recycled metal. They utilize the edges and free form nature of the old roofing metal that would have been discarded. I use this medium to show how the Presence of God is everywhere-we must make the effort to look for it. These pieces are large.
